Abstract:

This training workshop was conducted by teachers from Indian institute of Central Arid Zone Research Institute (CAZRI) in arid and semi-arid areas and more than 40 managers of the FRWO and some managers from the 7 desertified provinces of the country. The workshop curricula included a variety of subjects including: cause and processes of desertification, major techniques to control wind erosion in arid and semi-arid areas, run-off management, major techniques to control salinization in arid and semi-arid areas, choosing the suitable for tree- shrub- grass component added value of by products from different trees and introducing of CAZRI activities about desertification. At the first day of the workshop, the participants visited the combating desertification projects by the Southern khorasan general office of natural resources in Sarchah Ammari region. At the end of this workshop the certificates of the training workshops was awarded to participants by teachers from the CAZRI institute.
